Originally from Nebraska, Justin came to San Francisco to pursue his passion for the culinary arts. He spent 17 years as a traveling chef residing in restaurants from the Chesapeake Bay to Tahoe and San Luis Obispo. Unfortunately, addiction caught up with Justin, causing his career to spiral and he lost everything. Rehab brought Justin back to San Francisco, and after its completion, he continued his recovery journey in City Hope’s transitional 2-year sober-living residency program. Although he is no longer working as a chef in the restaurant industry, his passion remains. Justin loves to provide a memorable experience for our guests with each meal. He’s found a way to give back to City Hope as our resident chef, while also pursuing his degree in Clinical Psychology, and interning for HealthRIGHT 360 as a substance use disorder counselor.
