City Hope is seeking a Program Manager (Full-Time) and Program Assistant (Part-Time) to join our team!
City Hope is a faith-based non-profit focused on providing a trusted gathering place for our most
marginalized neighbors in the Tenderloin. At City Hope everyone is welcome, respected and celebrated.
The City Hope Community Center provides a safe space to enjoy homemade meals with
neighbors and participate in community building activities such as movie night, bingo and
karaoke (meals are to-go during these COVID times and activities have been temporarily
postponed).
The City Hope House is a two-year transitional sober living home for individuals who have
graduated from a recovery program and are working on strengthening their financial,
professional and personal lives in order to transition successfully into independent living.
City Hope | Program Manager (Full-Time)
Job Summary
City Hope, a community center in the Tenderloin, is looking for a Program Manager (Full-Time) responsible for developing and overseeing programs at City Hope, both for the main community center space and for the new City Hope Café. This position requires a desire to work with people from a variety of backgrounds and an ability to work at least one evening per week (Mon or Wed) and two Saturdays per month. Benefits Included.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
●Oversee the planning and implementation of programs, ensuring program content and execution are mission-aligned and create a safe environment for all participants
●Work closely with the Executive Directors to create sustainable program goals, assess program impact, and design new programming
● Create and manage the program budget
● Supervise the City Hope Chef and Program Assistant
● Collaborate with Operations Director and Engagement Manager
● Oversee volunteer orientation and day-of volunteer experience
●Meet with stakeholders (donors, volunteers, board members) as needed to discuss program goals and share program updates, providing data and reports as needed
● Conduct annual client survey assessing impact of City Hope’s mission
● Manage the City Hope program calendar:
-Keep the calendar up to date; communicate upcoming events to City Hope team
-Ensure programs and events are properly scheduled and work closely with the engagement manager and recovery manager to the events with volunteers and City Hope House participants
-Attend and actively contribute to weekly City Hope team meetings
●Flexibility to attend programs on evenings and weekends
Qualifications
● Requires 2 years of management experience
● Relational, with a desire to connect with a diverse population, including marginalized and disenfranchised individuals
● Clear and articulate communicator
● Client focused, prioritizing hospitality
● Dependable and trustworthy
● Scheduling flexibility - ability to work weekdays, evenings and weekends
● Attention to detail
● Everyone at City Hope, staff and guests, are vaccinated

- Plan and implement programs, from logistics and supplies to food preparation and execution, with an eye toward hospitality, customer service, and cleanliness
- Assist Program Manager with creating and implementing new programs
- Assist Program Manager with volunteer orientation and day-of volunteer experience
- Attend and actively contribute to weekly City Hope team meetings
- Share and uphold City Hope’s mission and values at all program events and in interactions with
- volunteers, guests, and donors
- Relational, with a desire to connect with a diverse population, including marginalized and disenfranchised individuals
